Industrial robot refers to the robot applied to the production process and environment. Industrial robot is a kind of automatic control, reprogrammable, multi-purpose, three-axis or more axis machine which is fixed or mobile applied in industrial automation.
Industrial robots can be classified according to program input mode, motion coordinate mode, driving mode and application field.
According to the program input mode, there are two types of programming input type and teaching input type;
According to the motion coordinate form, it can be divided into five types: joint machine, cylindrical coordinate robot, rectangular coordinate robot, parallel robot and SCARA (planar joint type) robot;
According to the driving mode, it can be divided into hydraulic drive, pneumatic drive and electric drive; From the perspective of application fields, it mainly includes welding, assembly, handling and stacking, loading and unloading, polishing and spraying, cutting and processing robots, etc. The downstream application industries mainly include automobile, electronic and electrical, rubber and plastics, metallurgy, food, medicine and cosmetics.
According to the data of the big database of China Business Industry Research Institute, in November 2017, the output of industrial robots in China was 11243 sets, with a year-on-year increase of 45.8%. Compared with the previous month, the growth rate has decreased, but it still maintains a high-speed growth trend. From January to November 2017, China's industrial robot output reached 118169 sets, with a cumulative increase of 68.8%. It is estimated that the annual output in 2017 will reach 125355 sets, with a year-on-year increase of 73.1%.

With the gradual maturity of industrial robot technology, the promotion and popularization of industrial robots in China will be promoted. The future development prospect of China's industrial robot market is expected. It is expected that China's industrial robot output will further expand in 2018. In 2018, China's industrial robot output is expected to exceed 150000 sets, reaching 151286 sets.
